- QWould you divest/invest specific company?
We are not allowed to select or exclude specific stocks.
It is stipulated by the law that the pension reserve "shall be managed safely and efficiently from a long-term perspective solely for the pension beneficiaries" by GPIF, and GPIF must discretionally entrust the investment decision for the equity investment to external asset managers, because we must consider the impact of the management of the reserve fund on the markets and other private sector activities.
Therefore, GPIF formulates the asset allocation in order to secure the investment return with minimal risks, but GPIF is not institutionally allowed to divest or invest specific company.
